The Zhangjiajie National Park is a scenic area in China comprised of precipitous stone pillars some of them as high as 1000 meters, and it all reminds us of Avatar.
One of the pillars is even officially renamed to Avatar Hallelujah Mountain in honor of the film, apparently according to the director James Cameron this place was the original inspiration for the floating mountains on the fictive moon Pandora.
The Zhangjiajie National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992 and in 2004 is also listed as a UNESCO Global Geopark.
